Now for the Nitty Gritty......

1. Unzip the outer cover of your mattress.

2. Take your scissors or utility knife, and carefully CUT off the thin fabric that covers all sections of the mattress (shown below in photo). Recycle or discard it.

3. Now's the time to wash the cover if you so desire. It'll need to be dry and placed in its original position beneath the foundation before you continue.

4. Vacuum up the messy little fabric pills.

5. Don't try to unglue or unduly separate parts of your mattress that aren't meant to come apart. Keeping that in mind, take each part of your mattress, and FLIP EACH PART. Flip the bottom section such that the foot-end of the bed is now at the head-end, and what was on the top (facing the ceiling) will now be on the bottom (facing the floor). Do this for EACH SECTION.

6. Line up the mattress sections, then re-zip the outer cover.

7. Lie down. Can you believe how it feels like new?

When's the best time to start?

Start early in the morning if you'd like to wash the removable cover on your mattress. After all, you haven't washed it the entire time you've owned it, have you? And who could, since the mattress set weighs fifteen hundred pounds, give or take, and it takes two strong backs to move the thing around?

You'll need these to fix your mattress

One pair scissors or a utility knife
Two reasonably strong, able-bodied human beings
One vacuum cleaner

First Post - keep checking back.

Hello, and welcome. I've started this blog out of frustration, and if you're reading this, you know what I'm talking about!

You did the research, and you swallowed hard and spent the money on the TempurPedic mattress. And you were thrilled! It felt so good and you never slept so well in your life.

Until....

A few years later, you woke up aching and sore. You thought it was the triathalon you ran, or the cord of wood you split, or that fall on the ice. But you woke up miserable the next night. And the next. And the next.

Could it be............the TempurPedic mattress?

Ding Ding Ding!! You, sir or madam, are correct!

But isn't it only about four years old?

Yep.

My husband and I have lived through this for months now, unable/unwilling to spend money on a new mattress. And now we won't have to, at least for a while longer. Maybe not even for a few more years.

We fixed our TempurPedic, and you can too. And it won't cost you anything. I'll tell you how in the next post.
